Attracting, Educating, and Retaining Aviation Professionals: An Edited Volume

Introduction: 

Internationally, the aviation sector is experiencing unprecedented growth.  A resulting challenge is that recruiting, educating, and retaining the ‘Next Generation of Aviation Professionals’ (NGAP) is a critical concern for the industry.  This edited volume brings together diverse academic viewpoints and practice-focused examples to explore a variety of threats and opportunities as the industry grapples with the issue and charts a course for a sustainable future. 

 

Target Audience: 

This book is targeted towards a multi-disciplinary audience that includes academics, regulators, practitioners, and graduate students exploring issues associated with the international aviation personnel supply.  

 

Book Themes: 

This book will include content centered around four thematic areas that impact the NGAP.  The four themes are listed below, along with desirable topic areas:

Recruiting, educating, and retaining the next generation of aviation professionals is an issue that impacts every professional sector and geographic region involved in air transport. 

Our goal with this book is to draw together a diverse group of academics and industry professionals, and present a variety of perspectives and initiatives that describe best practices and strategies to attract, educate, and retain young professionals within the aviation industry.
